Year 7 entry into a Selective High School

Information about the Year 7 selective high school placement process is available through the link below. This link will help you obtain more information about this program and how to apply. The application period cannot be extended. Make sure you submit your application before the closing date.

Year 8-10 entry into a Selective High School

Applications for selective entry for Years 8- 10 are accepted from mid June to the end of July each year. Applications are managed by the school, in line with Selective Schools Unit guidelines. Only a small number of places are available each year.

Entry to selective high schools in Years 8-10 does not depend on a centralised program as entry to Year 7 does.

To apply, please submit the following:

• Selective High Schools Application Form
• Last two school reports
• Supporting statement from the student (approximately half an A4 page).
  This could include reasons for applying for the selective class, academic strengths and learning habits, examples of commitment and effort, and what they hope to gain from being in the selective class.
• Supporting statement from the parent/carer (approximately half an A4 page).
  This could include reasons the student is suited to the selective class, and any relevant background or context.
